A bronze medal by Zettler for the 1933 Chicago World's Fair

This boxed round medal by Zettler was struck to commemorate the 1933 World's Fair held in Chicago.
The obverse depicts a semi-clothed male straddling two columns, one marked 1833 and the other marked 1933.His extended arms touch the words "RESEARCH" and "INDUSTRY" respectively. initialled "ERZ" for Emil Robert Zettler on the obverse.
The reverse shows the plan of the fair and the words "A CENTURY OF PROGRESS INTERNATIONAL EXPOSITION CHICAGO 1933" is stamped around the outer edge. Signed Zettler.

The medal has its original box and the small leaflet issued with the medal.

Emil Robert Zettler was born in Chicago, Illinois. He studied at The Art Institute of Chicago, Royal Academy, Berlin, and Julian Academy, Paris. He received the following awards: Hon. mention, The Art Institute of Chicago (1912); Bronze medal, Panama-Pacific International Exposition, San Francisco (1915); medal CSA (1915); Potter Palmer gold medal AIC, 1916. Sculptor member Chicago M.A.C., AG and AC of Chicago.
